Winemakers

The wine product industry is regulated according to the Wine Act 2003. All winemakers (producing for export or in excess of 10,000L/a) and certain other parties are required to register a Wine Standards Management Plan (Wine Standards Management Plan). This demonstrates how the winemaker will meet their obligations to produce wine that is suitable for consumption, is fully traceable and labelled correctly.

The verification takes place on site to ensure any wine packaged can be traced back to the source, grapes used for the wine can be tracked from the vineyard through to export and dispatch, labelling statements and information are truthful and information about allergy and disease are complied with. The frequency for exporters is annually.
